I met Brooke because she worked at a cafe I frequented for tea. I sat at the counter and wrote in my notebook. Whenever it wasn’t busy we’d talk. I’d catch her up on my latest explorations and she’d provide me with recommendations on where to go next. Eventually I asked if she might be open to a portrait.
There was something very whimsical about Brooke; her presence in her garden seemed to cast a spell, and the vibrant flora responded as if enchanted. Everything grew towards her, yearning to be closer.
It was as if nature itself thanked her for always recommending it.
